My journaling days go back to childhood. Back then I would start every entry with 'dear diary.' and write about any and everything, from my first ever pet to my first boyfriend lol. I would rush home every day to write about daily events. So many experiences documented on paper to be cherished for years to come. But as I grew older new interests took over and so my journal would spend a good majority of the time collecting dust, until life’s downs become too unbearable and I needed to vent. This little ol' book that started out as an innocent brain dumper, later became my saviour during hard times.
Here are 3 reasons why you should keep a journal:
1. It's therapeutic. On those days where you're overcome with emotions, having a journal can be such a blessing. It's a great way to release unexpressed feelings and emotions without having to bother anyone.
2. A judgement- free zone. Your journal is your safe space for your innermost thoughts and feelings; every page is yours to fill up any way you please, free from judgement.
3. A great way to cherish memories. In years to come when you're feeling rather nostalgic you can go through your journal reliving great times and also remind yourself of your strength for getting through the bad.
Journaling will help you discover so many things you didn't previously know about yourself. So, for those of you that are interested in personal growth, I definitely recommend it.
