Spring is all about releasing the old and embracing the new. We do this without a second thought offline so why should it be any different online? Here are 5 ways to spring clean your blog...
Refresh your about me page. When was the last time you spruced up your about me page? there may be some information you wrote that no longer applies to your blog. While you're there, update your picture if you haven't already done so.
Declutter categories. Be honest and ask yourself if you are passionate about writing about the categories listed on your blog. Our interests change over time so go through your categories and make sure they still reflect your passions.
Edit/remove broken links. I know this is time-consuming but it has to be done. Set some time aside to go through all of your blog posts and check for any broken links. If the link is for a blog post you have since deleted, remove it. And of course, for any others simply edit them.
Install a plug in or use the broken link check to weed them out.
Revisit old posts. When you've been blogging for a while you tend to forget about old posts as you're always focused on what you're going to blog about next. Go through old posts and either delete them or redo them. It's great to re-purpose old content especially when you're stuck for ideas on what to blog about next- take something old and make it new. You probably have a few posts you can re-purpose. Nothing worse than looking back on a post that makes us cringe lol.
Check your social share tools. You should already have all your social share tools (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc) on your blog and underneath each blog post to make it easy for your readers to follow you and share your posts. If you don't, make sure you fix that asap. Go through your tools and make sure they're still working.
