As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on all of the events that have taken place in the last 11 months. Things such as where I've been, who I've met, and how the many moments have shaped me. One thing I've noticed about 2017, and I think you will all agree, is that this is the year we have all said “Fuck You” to anyone and anything that wasn't serving us well. We reclaimed our time and realized our self-worth. And personally, I'm here for it.
There are so many people that I'm extremely proud of. If you are one of the victors that took back your power from the hands of others, pat yourself on the back. Be proud of your damn self. Life has a habit of rewarding us when we stop playing small, and that can come in the form of meeting like-minded people and welcoming new experiences that call for you to lead in some shape or form. You have to leave your comfort zone to collect your reward. Here’s to a job well done.
It's been nearly 2 years since I started gratitude journaling, and I'm so glad that I made it a daily habit. In doing so, it has changed my outlook on life, which in turn has changed my attitude towards certain things. There are quite a few things I'm grateful for this year, but one of the most important things i'm grateful for is my faith being restored. Looking back on things that didn't work out, I know now that it was a blessing in disguise. I tell ya, hindsight will have you laughing at your past self and thinking, “Girl, if only you knew the thing you're currently stressing over isn't all that and something better is on its way.”
I’m a firm believer in what is mine, is mine. If it's for me, it can't miss me. Don't mistake that for me saying be lazy, and things will miraculously fall into your lap because I highly doubt that. But, if you just focus on doing the work, rest assured that it will all work out in your favour.
What's one thing you're most grateful for this year?
