Working out can be really tedious at times but nothing in life comes without work. So, I've come up with a few tips to make it easier to stick to your workout plan. Ready to slay your fitness goals?
Pair up with a friend. Now this could help or hinder you but only you know yourself. You want to make sure that your friend is disciplined and wants this as much as you do otherwise i'd suggest you work out alone. I'm not saying you can't have fun while working out but if the two of you are easily distracted, you're more likely to play than work which defeats the purpose- you're only as strong as your weakest link.
Switch it up. Switch up your routine every couple of weeks to make it fun. If you enjoy going for a morning jog, change the route. Doing the same thing repeatedly breeds familiarity which then becomes boring. You really have to try and make this as fun as possible for yourself- set yourself up to win.
Create a good workout playlist. This is one of the best distractions when working out lol you'll be singing along to your favourite songs that you won't even realise how long you've been working out and before you know it an hour would've gone by.
Work with what you have. Can't afford to go to the gym? go to the park, use apps, find workout vids on youtube. These days there are so many options to explore. You know deep down that if you want to do something you will and if you don't you will find excuses. But excuses keep us stagnant and being stagnant isn't cute.
Tip: If you dread any form of exercise, do it first thing in the morning. The sooner you get it over and done with, the easier it is for you to enjoy the rest of your day.
Think long term. I think it's really important to set a realistic time frame of when you expect to accomplish your goal, Write this down as well as what sacrifices you need to make to achieve it: how many times a week do you need to workout? what foods do you need to cut out of your diet? what foods are you going to replace them with? read up on food labels, nutrition etc. Every week make changes that will contribute to achieving your end goal, whether it's losing weight or gaining weight. You'll want to make sure you do all your research before hand as any blips can make it easy for you go off course. And, if for any reason you do go off course, try not to beat yourself up about it, at the end of the day you're only human, just dust yourself off and try again tomorrow.
