When it comes to shopping it's easy to get carried away and buy whatever looks appealing in the moment, burning a hole in your purse in the process but that can easily be prevented by asking yourself a few honest questions:
Know your style. Ask yourself how you are going to style this item? if you don't know, put it back. Buying clothes and having no idea how your going to style them usually means it's going to end up in the back of your wardrobe not seeing the day of light.
Stick to your budget. Before heading out, decide how much you're going to allow yourself to spend and carry only that amount of money with you. You'll have no choice but to stick to budget.
Know thy self. Be honest and ask yourself the real reason you're buying this item. Are you buying it because you generally like it or are you buying it to fit in? If it's the latter, i suggest you ask yourself why you feel you need to fit in and start to figure out what you really like to discover your own style. It's important that you feel confident in whatever you decide to wear.
Buy only what you need. Make a list of clothes that you know definitely need and carry this list with you the next time you go shopping. Make sure you only buy what is on your list.
Follow the one in, one out rule. So, for those of you that don't know, the one in, one out rule means that whenever you buy something new, you need to get rid of something old. This is a good way of making sure your wardrobe doesn't become too full.
Avoid re-purchasing items. Take pictures of your closet. So, the next time you go shopping, you know exactly what you own and can avoid purchasing the same clothes.
Shop around. Before making a big purchase, shop around and see if you can find the same item a bit cheaper. Look good and save a few coins in your purse ;)
