I've not long returned from an amazing trip to wales and i'm missing it already. Rich history, beautiful scenery and warm, friendly people. I really didn't want to leave lol
The first place i decided to visit was Conwy Castle. This medieval fortification was built by Edward I in the thirteenth century. It was designed to watch over the walled town of Conwy and formed part of Edward's plan to establish a new english colony on a significant welsh site. I walked around for a good few hours exploring all there was to see. It has been preserved quite well. There are also displays around that give you a sense of how it would have looked originally.

I love going to tourist spots, you meet so many different people from all over the world. I bumped into an american guy that knew everything about this castle- ended up making him my tour guide haha
This is a inexpensive tourist attraction. Adult tickets are only £6.75. If you would like to know more, you can find all info here
Afterwards i went to Caernarfon castle which is not far from Conwy Bay. It was sooo packed! i walked around for abit, took a few pics and headed to lunch lol. With dark, steep stairwells, it can be quite dangerous when trying to make your way up/down the stairs. There is a thick rope for you to hold on to but i noticed some people would try and climb the stairs while you are and there is simply not enough room.
The next day, i took a trip to Llanberis after hearing about the Llanberies lake railway. I can't remember how much i paid to go on the train but you can find all info here
The train ride lasted about an hour and you get to stop off for a tea break. It was a very enjoyable ride. Below are some pics i took of mount snowdon
Until next time x
